Door County

Over the summer Edon and I had some fun adventures. One week Edon's family came into town and we went to Door County, WI. It is in the book 1000 US place to see before you die. Anyway, they have a traditional meal called a fish boil. As the name states they boil fish, but there are potatoes and other things too. Here are a few pictures.

This is a video of the cooking process, watch the people back up due to the heat.

This is the finished product. Yummy Brent.

I'm Back

Well I have finished my test finally, well at least for now. So I now wont feel guilty blogging. While some of readers finished a marathon, and congrats to all those who finished. I had a life time achievement of mine own. I finished my first 1000 piece puzzle. You may say there is no comparison, but a marathon may only last 6 hours this puzzle took all conference weekend, plus LA vs Boston baseball game.

I have some back pictures to upload later this week so return back soon

IT'S A BOY!!!

Yes, we had an ultrasound today, and Edon was right its a boy. I thought we were going to have twins a boy and a girl, guess I was half right. Baby Boy Davenport looks really good. It was fun to see him for the first time. I have seen many u/s but this one was special. Normally I look and say there's the heart and there's this and that, but this time I was amazed and kept looking at the heart and thinking okay that looks good, oh there's the arm and hand, good it has 5 fingers and so forth. I scanned the ultrasound pictures, I know that you can't see them very well but it is fun to post them anyway.

On the way home we went shopping for something blue, and turned out we got a bunch of outfits. I guess we were a little excited. We also came up with some preliminary names, these are only a very rough draft. Vote for your favorite or suggest others, we have no clue what to call Baby Davenport.

Confessions of a Dog Owner

I know I am lame, but I am tired of having a dog that wets herself anytime another dog walks by, or when a stranger looks her way. I really think Azteca's tail is between her legs more than it is wagging. She will Even pee herself when she gets excited or 3 days days I scared her by petting her head when she wasn't looking a the flood gates came open. Anyone want a dog?

So today I drop the dog off at Dare Care, yes that is not a typo, she is at a Doggie Dare Care while I am at home studying. We live 4-5 blocks from this this place and they have plenty of dogs who come to play. I am tired of having the loser dog who pees at any scary noises or friendly people. I hate the fact that my dog has no confidence. So after driving past this place over the last few weeks I decided to stop by. Edon's family is coming to town next week and we are going to go to Door County WI, we may have to board our dog. I spoke with the owner and she talked about nervous dogs gain a lot of confidence and learns to play with both people and fellow k9s through dog daycare.

I know the probability of being mock over this issue lies around 90% chance, so laugh it up. But hey do you want to spend your time cleaning up dog piddles, or fear that when a newborn comes home latter this year that out of fear the dog will spend the rest of her life hiding under the cough, behind the fridge, or whimpering in some corner.

For those who dont know Azteca, she is the dog in the corner by the windows scared of the other dogs. I thought it was pretty funny so I added it to the post.

A White Sox 4th of July

We are back online. After 2 weeks of no Internet or Cable we are back. For the 4th we decided to go to a Sox game since we are now South Siders and they are our team by default. (I still like the Cubs better) Here is a view of the field from our seats. Edon thinks this picture is dumb since it is the back of her head, but I like it since this was the only time she was actually watching the game.
Here is a picture from the top of the US Cellular looking north towards the city.

This guy I think was given a restraining order from Juan Uribe. Every time he got up to bat this is what we heard, plus a loud squeal of JJJJJJJJUAAAAAAAAAAAN UUUUUUUURRIIIIIIIBBBBBBBBEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really think he may be the guy who is going through Juan's garbage looking for toenail clippings.

What 4th is complete without fireworks. Ella this video is for you.

As we left the stadium we could see all the illegal fireworks shooting up so I took a video. It may be hard to see and not worth watching. But like David's moth from hell, the video doesn't do it justice.

Floating Parley Street

We just got back from Nauvoo, it was great weather. The sun was out the flood was receding and bugs galore. I have to get up early and this week is move week, so sorry to my avid readers this post is just pics and sorry I haven't updated since Mom and Dad were here.

These come from the old site of Sunset by the Mississippi

These are at the End of Parley Street

(This shirt really makes her look prego) There is a better prego shot later for you girls. These next pictures are of the Community of Christ sites, the first is Red Brick Store, the car is the same car-I tried to get perspective-

These are from the Smith family graves-this fence is at the corner by Lucy Mack and Joseph Sr. it was almost completely underwater. You can also see how Edon is showing.

The Smith Family Home, the missionaries were all sore from sand-bagging

If you look close you can see that the pumps were pumping water out. It was a fun trip, I had to DJ the dance and I think it went well, I was asked to DJ a birthday party afterwards. I guess I can DJ if this medical thing doesn't work.
