A White Sox 4th of July

We are back online. After 2 weeks of no Internet or Cable we are back. For the 4th we decided to go to a Sox game since we are now South Siders and they are our team by default. (I still like the Cubs better) Here is a view of the field from our seats. Edon thinks this picture is dumb since it is the back of her head, but I like it since this was the only time she was actually watching the game.
Here is a picture from the top of the US Cellular looking north towards the city.

This guy I think was given a restraining order from Juan Uribe. Every time he got up to bat this is what we heard, plus a loud squeal of JJJJJJJJUAAAAAAAAAAAN UUUUUUUURRIIIIIIIBBBBBBBBEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really think he may be the guy who is going through Juan's garbage looking for toenail clippings.

What 4th is complete without fireworks. Ella this video is for you.

As we left the stadium we could see all the illegal fireworks shooting up so I took a video. It may be hard to see and not worth watching. But like David's moth from hell, the video doesn't do it justice.

Floating Parley Street

We just got back from Nauvoo, it was great weather. The sun was out the flood was receding and bugs galore. I have to get up early and this week is move week, so sorry to my avid readers this post is just pics and sorry I haven't updated since Mom and Dad were here.

These come from the old site of Sunset by the Mississippi

These are at the End of Parley Street

(This shirt really makes her look prego) There is a better prego shot later for you girls. These next pictures are of the Community of Christ sites, the first is Red Brick Store, the car is the same car-I tried to get perspective-

These are from the Smith family graves-this fence is at the corner by Lucy Mack and Joseph Sr. it was almost completely underwater. You can also see how Edon is showing.

The Smith Family Home, the missionaries were all sore from sand-bagging

If you look close you can see that the pumps were pumping water out. It was a fun trip, I had to DJ the dance and I think it went well, I was asked to DJ a birthday party afterwards. I guess I can DJ if this medical thing doesn't work.

CHI-TOWN!!!

Well here are a few pixs from the parental visit.
Oprah's house is right there. ( The top 2 floors we think)

Dad milking a plastic cow (Dont worry he did clean the utters before hand)

Mom and Dad starring in the clowns

The Spirit of America (2 points if you know the history)

The U-505 boat. I know Dad posted the picture of us in front of it, but this gives a full view of the ship as it rests.

It was sure fun running around the city with Mom and Dad, maybe Dad will post more of his postcard pictures he took of the landscape, flowers, animals and skyline. He sure did enjoy his camera.

Go Cubs Go!!!!

We went to Wrigley Field last week to see the Cubbies win! It was really fun. Edon got the tickets from a board member last week and the seats were great.

Okay that wasnt our seat but how about this one.
This is where we really were. Wrigley is so small any seat is great.

An old chicago tradition, Go Cubs Go, after every game they win.

Sweeney Todd

Last night Edon and I got Giordano's Chicago style pizza, I know it isn't as good as Gino's East, but it was across the street from the theater and it is pretty good. We then saw Sweeney Todd.

It was really good. It was really different from what I thought it would be. The scene was really simple, it was a parlor backdrop that was smaller than the stage with a hard wood raise floor. It was like a smaller stage set on top of the real stage. The other interesting style was that there was no pit, the actor were also musicians and they played the score, sang and acted, so no one ever left the stage. It was really interesting see the actors use the instruments with the acting. I really liked it. It's nice having Broadway in Chicago.

Color Changing Perro

Edon, didnt think anyone would understand the color changing dog since most of you have never met Azteca, so here is the evolution of her colors. When the computer died in Mexico we lost her puppy pictures, when she was almost black. I guess when you invite an illegal immigrant dog into your home you will never know what will get.

Over the past couple months she has started to grow a black left eye, Perro Loco.

The Red Line Crash

Today as Edon left work, 2 blocks away a semi went out of control exiting the freeway and slammed into the subway station killing 2 and wounding 19 others. The crazy thing is that we use that subway station all the time, but today Edon had the car and was driving. However, if she was planning on taking the train she would have been on the scene. Crazy.
Other Chicago news, this week 40 people were shot or stabbed on the South Side where both Edon and I work. Half have died and most were young. Kids are skipping school and the police have started to escort kids to school so they arrive safely.
I came across some blogs of my friends from Spokane and realized how lame my blog is. They have pictures of their kids, and them growing up, and I have stupid clips of Obama and milk commercials. But I must admit, blogging with kids has to be easier, and unlike Danielle I dont like my dog as much as she likes her cats. In fact I am half of the reason why Azteca is so ugly. I am so cheap I dont take her to get her hair cut, I do it. And yes is looks as good as it sounds, so not only does the color changing dog have a bad fur color she also has a hair cut to match.
So sorry I have lame blogs, but male blogging is sorta gay anyway. Happy blogging.
